Sono qui raccolti i contributi delle seconda edizione de I Dialoghi di San Giorgio, progettata dalla Fondazione Giorgio Cini sul tema delle Architetture di Babele. Linguisti, semiologi, filosofi, sociologi, scienziati e poeti discutono dell’intercessione dei linguaggi nei rapporti di integrazione e scontro fra culture, etnie e religioni. Ci si interroga sulla mutazione delle lingue, che oggi appaiono sempre meno sistemi verbali e sempre più sincretismi di parole, grafi, numeri, immagini.
Gathered here are the contributions of the second edition of I Dialoghi di San Giorgio, organized by the Giorgio Cini Foundation on the topic Architectures of Babel. Linguists, semiologists, philosophers, sociologists, scientists and poets discuss the mediating role of languages in integration and clash of cultures, ethnic groups and religions. Also investigated is the mutation of languages, which today are more and more syncretisms of words, graphs, numbers, images, rather than verbal systems.
